Dr. Lorle Porter

Dr. Lorle is a Professor Emerita, Muskingum College, and she has written numerous books on Ohio history and the immigrant’s story , and she has been described as “Southeastern Ohio’s historical conscience, loyal friend, and partner.” Dr. Porter is part of the Friends of the Public Library Authors Series. 2017 Author Series
The Friends of the Marysville Public Library is sponsoring the 12th Annual Friends of the Library Author Series. All presentations begin at 7:00 p.m. and are held at Veteran’s Memorial Auditorium, Marysville. Tickets are $5 each, or $10 for the entire series (students are free.) Tickets are available for purchase at the Marysville Public Library or at the door. Upcoming Authors:
Teen Science Fiction Author
Melissa Landers is a former teacher who left to pursue other worlds. A proud sci-fi geek, she isn’t afraid to wear her Princess Leia costume in public—just ask her family! Her book series Alienated has a four-star rating on Goodreads, and the series has a large fan following.
Mysteries; Children’s Author
Ms. Flanders used to work in Marysville, and her first children’s book is going to be published this fall and it stars the animals of Sunrise Sanctuary located in Marysville. Her adult novels include horror, thrillers and the historical mystery The Ghosts of Aquinnah.

The Friends of the Marysville Public Library is a separate non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, established to support the library and its mission in the community. Through memberships, book sales and other activities, the Friends raise funds to support Library programs and services, grow the Endowment and provide volunteer assistance.

Contribute to the Endowment
The Friends of the Marysville Public Library have an endowment fund to receive and manage gifts to the Library. A gift to the Endowment in memory of someone is a special way to pay lasting tribute, and donors have the satisfaction of knowing their gifts will result in lasting benefit for the Marysville Public Library.
