TIP:  The best place to start when researching your Union County family is with the 78-volume Genealogical Index of Delaware and Union Counties, commonly known as the Bouic Index. This unique resource, compiled by Margaret Main Bouic, indexes many records for persons living in Union County from its beginnings to about the 1990s.

The Bouic Index is also online at midohiogen.org.

Some tips for searching the Bouic Index:

  • The actual entry from the book edition is in the Notes field.
  • Sources in the Notes field link to the Key to Sources page of the Bouic Index which includes locations for access.
  • A person may be listed twice if Mrs. Bouic was unable to definitely identify entries as the same person.
  • Spouses and family groups are not linked together.
  • Many loose files of family information have been integrated into our surname files available at the library.
